Single-visit RCT in Una

Single-visit root canal treatment—when clinically suitable.

At Sethi Dental Clinic, we assess the tooth first and explain whether root canal treatment may be completed in one appointment or would be safer across more than one visit.

Preserving the natural tooth

Treat the problem inside the tooth.

Root canal treatment, also called endodontic treatment or RCT, may be advised when the pulp inside a tooth is inflamed or infected because of deep decay, a crack, injury or another dental problem.

The aim is to remove the affected tissue, clean and shape the canal system, then fill and seal it. The tooth usually needs a suitable filling, core or crown to protect and restore it, depending on the remaining tooth structure.

  • Persistent tooth painPain should be assessed to identify the cause.
  • Sensitivity or tendernessLingering sensitivity or pain on biting may need examination.
  • Damaged toothDeep decay, cracks or injury can affect the tooth's inner tissue.
  • Single-visit treatmentCleaning, shaping and sealing may be completed in one appointment when the diagnosis and tooth condition allow.

Single-visit RCT

One appointment, when the clinical findings allow.

Single-visit treatment means the root canals are cleaned, shaped and sealed during one appointment. It is an option for selected teeth—not a promise made before examination.

  • Additional visits may be advisedfor complex anatomy, persistent symptoms, drainage, retreatment or other clinical concerns.

Can root canal treatment be completed in one sitting?

It may be possible to clean, shape and seal the canals in one appointment when the diagnosis, tooth anatomy and clinical findings are suitable. Some teeth are safer to treat over more than one visit, and the final crown or other restoration may require a separate appointment.

Does tooth pain always mean I need root canal treatment?

No. Tooth pain can have several causes. An examination, and sometimes dental imaging, is needed to identify the cause and discuss the appropriate treatment.

Will I need a crown after root canal treatment?

That depends on the tooth and how much sound tooth structure remains. We explain whether a filling, core or crown may be appropriate after assessment.

What technology may be used during RCT?

Depending on the tooth, digital dental imaging may support diagnosis and planning, an electronic apex locator may assist working-length measurement, and rotary endodontic instruments may be used to clean and shape the canals.

What should I do if tooth pain is accompanied by swelling?

Call the clinic and explain your symptoms so current availability can be checked. Seek urgent medical care for severe swelling or difficulty breathing or swallowing.
